Background

So about me, I am a Computer Science student who’s gone to the University of Cincincnati for many, many years. I’ve gotten both my Bachelors and Masters from them, and I primarily am interested in the weirder side of CS. Not the technical side in the idea of making new algorithms that do compression or whatnot. But, the things that are adjacent to CS or used by CS that aren’t actually explicitly CS. For instance, my Capstone is all about Mixed Reality, having both the real world and the virtual world combined. This isn’t exactly something that comes to mind immediately when you say Computer Science, but it is something that I have worked very hard on.

The other fields that I’m interested are bioinformatics. The idea that medical teams are getting so much data that they just can’t parse it by themselves anymore and since the medical field is an extremely important field, I think that that’s really cool and interesting area to work in. I haven’t actually done any major projects with bioinformatics aside from taking a few classes. While I am a little disappointed by that fact, I have also been interested in an area called Synthetic Biology.

Synthetic Biology is the idea that creatures can be made synthetically. Making raw creatures from basically nothing has been really interesting to me, and I’ve been keeping a close eye on that.

Interests

My other personal hobbies, however, are primarily in the gaming space. I love to make games. I like to make mostly tabletop games, TRPGs, board games, card games, that sort of thing. Currently I’m working on two, maybe three different games. One of them is Video Game. It’s a card game that has multiple lanes people have compared it to Slay The Spire, though its not that similar. It’s also not listed on the site yet, but maybe one day. The other game that I’m working on is my TRPG, tabletop role-playing game, similar to pretty much any of the other games you would think of. D&D, Pathfinder, etc. That one is called RPG Hell. And it’s what I’ve been working on the past two years with some of my friends.

Dispite the fact I am only working on two games right now, I love making them in general. I have a lot of ideas. In fact, on this, on this website, there are a lot of examples of games that I have made. My friends even get annoyed at me when I bring up the idea of working on my game or having worked on it very late to the evening.

I also like to make art. I’m mostly a pixel artist. I have a tendency to make pixel art more than any other kind of art. Although recently, I’ve started to want to do more hand drawn art, both digitally and physically. I also used to dabble in 3d, although I’m not very good at the 3d. I do have a tiny amount of experience in regards to that. My favorite art type is watercolor with ink. Using watercolor to just have the main colors and then an ink to highlight specific things. My sister made some of my my favorite watercolor, and it has been what has inspired me to try and learn to do the same thing.

My favorite genre, in general, is fantasy. Specifically high fantasy, I like the idea of a special magical system that is made specifically for it. Although, I also like it when that system isn’t perfectly explained. There are edges and gaps in it. But overall, the idea of just a different kind of magic, from the real world, really intrigues me. I watch, read, and listen a bunch of it. Most of my favorite literature is in comics and videos. I watch a lot of anime, though my personal favorites are made by small indie studios or individuals who just wanted to make something. And yes I LOVE dragons, and turtles. Im a nerd, sue me.
